God Makes a Way

THE STORY: Moses and the Red Sea

“God Makes a Way!” found on page 92 of the Jesus Storybook Bible

THE DISCUSSION

What did Moses tell the Israelites as Pharaoh and his army approached?

How did God rescue the Israelites?

God's power is revealed in many ways. Only God could part a sea. But God also does
many powerful things for us every day. He brings the sun up in the morning, he
showers the earth with rain, and makes the trees grow. He even created gravity to
keep us from accidentally flying into outer space! Talk about how you see God’s
power in the world around you.

THE ACTIVITY

Use household items to create a piece of art depicting Moses and the Israelites’ escape
from Pharaoh and his army. Hint: use cotton balls to depict the pillar of smoke!

THE BLESSING

Take turns saying to each family member, while making the sign of the cross on the
other's forehead:

God is your protector!

MEMORY VERSE

I will be with you… Exodus 3:12
