Proverbs Overview
You can trust in God’s wisdom. Linked to Solomon and other wise men, the book of Proverbs includes hundreds of short, clever sayings designed to teach every person how to live and act wisely. Each saying touches on a common area of life and shows us what it looks like to live well before God and toward others.

DISCUSS

What stuck out to you about the description of Proverbs in the video?

READ & REFLECT

Read: Proverbs 1:1-7

By fearing or respecting God and reading and obeying the wise, practical counsel found in this book, we develop the important skills and moral mindset we need to live successful, good, and godly lives in God's world.

Reflect

Is the concept of having fear of the Lord something that you are comfortable with? Why/Why Not?

What does having fear of the Lord mean to you personally?

Read: Proverbs 31

The wisdom in Proverbs is often described as a lady, and it's not an impersonal force; it's an attribute of God himself.

Reflect

How can the wisdom and life of the noble wife apply to you (regardless of age, gender, profession)?

In what ways can you incorporate living wisely and well in God’s good world, based on the wisdom from Proverbs?

ACTIVITY

Write a scripture from proverbs and put it somewhere in your home, office, or car to remind you to pursue living wisely in God’s good world.
