Social Justice Activist Naomi Tutu to Speak

Monday, Oct. 29 at 11 AM
St. Mary's on the Highlands, Birmingham
Reverend Naomi Tutu, daughter of Archbishop Desmond Tutu, is coming to speak at the Fall Fundraiser benefiting St. Mary’s ECW Ministries. She was born in South Africa and had the opportunity to live in many communities and countries. She was educated in Swaziland, the US and England, and has divided her adult life between South Africa and the US. The experiences of growing up black and female in apartheid South Africa taught her that the whole human family loses when situations of oppression are accepted, and how the teaching and preaching of hate and division injure us all. Mother Tutu will speak about the importance of women's stories of faith.
Tickets are $40 and include lunch from Brick & Tin. For tickets and carpooling please email KatherineBGould@yahoo.com or call 523-2530.
