Christmas Giving Opportunities
Our church has several opportunities for giving this Christmas season. We invite you to participate in the following efforts to serve our community!
Lazarus Toy Sale Donations
In preparation for the annual Lazarus Toy sale, we are collecting gently used toys that will be sold to families in need of financial assistance. Donations can be delivered to room 106A behind the adult library. We prefer toys to be clean and if there are small pieces, please bag them together. The sale will be held on Monday, December 5th with all profits benefiting the Lazarus Ministry!
DHR Christmas Wish Lists
Christ Episcopal Church has been asked to sponsor the Christmas Wish Lists of 20 children and teens in the care of Tuscaloosa DHR this year. The sign up sheet and wish lists are located in the atrium. The maximum for all gifts is $150. All gifts must be returned to the church by Sunday, December 4th.
Salvation Army Stuff a Stocking
Christ Church is partnering with the Salvation Army to provide Christmas stockings for Center of Hope residents. The Tuscaloosa Center of Hope provides shelter, nutritious meals, counseling, job placement assistance, educational opportunities, health and substance abuse referrals and vocational rehabilitation for men, women and families. We are excited for the opportunity to surprise local families staying at the center with gifts on Christmas morning.
Our goal is to provide stockings for 40 men and 20 women by December 12th. We hope you will consider helping us meet this goal. We would like each bag to contain items that are needed and at least one fun gift. Participation is easy! Grab a gallon size zip lock bag and fill with the below items:
For men- socks, deodorant, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, playing cards, hard candy, and Christmas candy.
For women- socks, deodorant, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, lotions, hard candy, and Christmas candy.
Bags can be dropped off in the basket in front of Catherine Collier's office from now until December 12th.
